Some News

March 4th, 2007 · 10 Comments

So yes, Bex and I have gotten engaged. I proposed on a trip to St. Louis a few weeks ago. Since then we’ve been in hardcore wedding planning mode. I think we’re going to have fun wedding, and I’m enjoying the planning more than I thought I would.

In other news, our house was egged last Friday. Weird thing is that it was our back deck that was egged, not the front of the house like I would expect in a random egging. It makes it seem so much more personal. Next time I see any of the neighborhood kids, I’m going to tell them to stay the hell off of my lawn. Also, I need to train the dog only to bark when there are people on the lawn, as opposed to, say, whenever anybody walks anywhere on Quivira, whenever there is a rabbit in the back yard, whenever the neighbors on either side come home… Maybe this is why our house was egged. I am just saying that the two things could be related.

congrats, indeed, both for the engagement and the egging. When someone’s motivated enough to either want to marry you you know you’re somebody. Also, when they’re motivated enough to egg your house intentionally–not just randomly–you can consider that notion confirmed.

Yes, almost exactly three years to the day after our first date, at a Tortoise show. We’re there. I’m kind of pissed that Explosions In The Sky is sold out, though.

Congratulations! I assume that “Bex” is short for “Rebecca”?

It is, and thank you Jake.

hmm… that means we will both have wives named “Rebecca”. It may be worth double-checking that they are not the same person. My Rebecca has been arriving home late smelling of midwestern barbecue sauce . . .

Wow, you are, like, so old now. Getting married and having your house egged? Time to start wearing the black socks and sandals.
