New Breakfast Options
When I lived in Houston, Kolaches from the Kolache Factory were about as popular as donuts in the office, and I've missed them since I moved away. According to Bex (and their website), we'll be getting one in town soon. (If it isn't already open, that is.) Bex claims it will be at 133rd and Metcalf. Hopefully this will replace the Fruit Bagel with Fruit Cream Cheese that seems to be the office standard up here. (Yuk... Give me Onions and Lox, please.) Well, it'll replace it when I'm buying at least. Posted by Ryan Olson at 03:14 PM

Frontalot Tomorrow Night
Well, I wasn't planning about posting anything else about tomorrow's MC Frontalot show at the Jackpot Saloon in Lawrence, but then one of my fellow Street Team members had to go and put together a video commercial for the show. Posted by Ryan Olson at 01:26 PM

Hosed
Well, I mentioned a few days ago that I really want to get one of those Treo 700p palm phones. Looks like that's going to happen sooner rather than later.
Still, the current incarnation of my phone has been with me since 2002. It has not looked good for quite some time, but it has always worked very well, with very few drops. Also, I'm rough on my personal electronics, and the phone just feels tough, and has resisted my rough treatment over the years. (You'll notice that just about all the paint has been rubbed off of the face of the phone.) I just don't think that a clamshell phone would last like this Sanyo did. Well, last thursday this Sayno finally gave up the ghost. On Wednesday I charged it overnight, and on removing it from its charger it only showed a half charge. By Thursday it would immediately give the low battery warning upon being removed from AC power. By Saturday it would no longer turn on at all. Now here's the dilemma. The new phone I want isn't going to be out until the end of the month. Sprint stores no longer carry the battery for my old phone. I think I can find one online, but it probably won't get here until pretty close to when I can get the new phone. So, it sounds like I'm just going to be going without phone communication for a few weeks here. If anybody needs to reach me, email is your best bet. (Hell, at this point I spend about 85% of my waking hours in front of a computer, so that was really probably always your best bet.) Goodbye Sanyo Phone. You have served me well. Even when your charger contacts went bad and I had to put a weight on the charger cable to make sure that you could get a charge, I still loved you. Posted by Ryan Olson at 07:59 AM

Nerdery
Suppose for the purposes of this post that you are a member of MC Frontalot's street team for his upcoming Nerdcore Rising Tour 2006. (In Lawrence May 27th at the Jackpot Saloon.) As a member of said street team, it is your duty to see that posters and flyers are posted wherever nerds congregate. (Besides my living room.) Where in the Kansas City metro area do nerds congregate? Where do you see that your posters are posted? Posted by Ryan Olson at 12:48 PM
